getting that and 1/8" dome rivets at home depot when i go. One thing though im not sure exactly what size rivets i need.

The rivet gun will snub off the post (stick) part automatically, so you just need to get rivets that fit snugly in the hole that you want to connect.

1/8" im guessing im ordering the rivets off Mcmaster so i can get the exact size.

yeah but not when you mess up on the spray painting. I have to get it powder coated now, but powder coating is better so yay
