Default Just bought a new i7 rig.
Hey what are your thoughts about the parts i just bought? Would it be able to reach high OC?

Here are the parts.
  • Intel Core I7 920 D0 Stepping Quad Core Processor LGA1366 2.66GHZ Bloomfield 8MB LGA1366 -SLBEJ-
  • ASUS P6T SE X58 ATX LGA1366 DDR3 LGA1366 3PCI-E16 PCI-E1 2PCI CrossFire

I'm going to reuse my old parts as per the list on my sig.

Looks good. I'm sure you'll be very happy with your setup, and reach a pretty good OC too! The gtx will probably get to ~740mhz core

I think you should be able to get 4Ghz pretty easy.

I just checked the rams are only qualified for the P6T Deluxe Model? Is that true? Not qualified for the P6T SE?

oh man! i just finished receiving all my parts..and just assembled them all..

guess what?

my side case fan won't close because my my hsf is blocking it..

omg it didn't happen to my previous motherboard!!

damn mobo, have to be so low!!

I could have told you that. Its an issue with the antec 1200. (I had the same problem)

you might be able to make it work by aligning the TRUE horizontally and using a 25mm fan (instead of your 38mm kaze).

well i have a 25mm fan pulling from the kaze's fan..

i know it's not a good idea, but putting the 35mm kaze on top and let the air blow on the VC? it won't really be that bad right?

It should be fine.

With that motherboard you will need a side door fan that blows air straight at the NB (the cooling on the P6T SE NB is very basic).
