How about CHEAPER than cheaper than dirt? Got my build down to $156. Granted, it sucks completely, and I wouldn't recommend ANYONE purchase it, but hey, if you wanted as cheap as you can get, here you go.

Total: About $220 including shipping.

Yeah, I know you said you didn't need a case, but that one comes with a PSU, and it's safer to run inside a case, I'd reckon. This build has a really small hard drive because I figured you'd want an adequate graphics card right now, but if you take the graphics card off, you could get a bigger HDD (The motherboard has onboard graphics). The motherboard offers some upgradability, and if you buy another 2GB stick of RAM, you'll be good to go. My build doesn't include an OS, monitor, keyboard, or mouse.

Good luck.

EDIT: Saw Cerebrus's offer. That's definitely what I'd do if I were you. You're getting an awesome deal.
May I Note (As I Said Earlier) That PSU's Made By Brands Like That (Low End Brands) Generally Fry Up And Die Within A Couple Weeks.

But Nice Job Including The Case With The Build - Good Work

I realize that, but he's not going to be pulling very many watts at all, so the PSU won't be under any real load. I ran a 9600GT on a 400W generic for a while, and the PSU is still working 24/7 (It came with a Rosewill case, and now it's running in an onboard graphics system)

Closest I Can Get That Doesn't Suck - And Has Some Room For Upgrades.

Your Best Bet Would Be Buying 2 Sticks Of That RAM - Then You'd Be Ready For Some Serious Gaming

The Graphics Are Onboard - Mind You They Are Some Very Nice Onboard GFX - And I Think They Should Be Able To Run Your Games Fairly Well.

If You Want To Upgrade To A Better GFX Card You Have The Ability To Do So Later - With Your PCI - E x16 Slot.

The CPU I Have Used In Several Low-Budget Builds - And Runs Very Fast @ Stock - And Overclocks Decently.

The Memory Is Made By One Of The Top Brands (Overclocking Wise Even)
And Has Very Tight Timings - So It Runs Fast (For DDR2 800)

The HDD Is 500GB And Is 7200RPM's (Made By Hitachi - Which Is A Fairly Good Brand)
And Has A 16MB Cache (The Most I Could Get In Your Pricerange)

As For The PSU - Its The Bare Minumum You Want To Go With - Cooler Master Is A Good Manufacturer - And Although You Can Find Cheaper PSU's - They Are All Junk And Normally Burn Out Or Catch Fire Within A Few Weeks.

Note It Also Has A $10.00 Mail In Rebate.
Anyway - I Hope You Like It

If Theirs Anything You Would Like To Ask/Change About It Just Let Me Know

Rep Is Appreciated
What would you think if I replaced that 6000+ with a x4 9600, even thought I probably wouldn't have much use for the extra core or two, but it would be nice to have it now other than waiting to upgrade again.

Or option 3 to save what I have now and get a couple extra $100 and build a slightly better rig with a GPU?

Definitely go for a better video card before upgrading that processor. You'll be running like a 4850-4870 before you run into problems with your processor being a bottleneck.
