Should have gone with a Q9550 and a UD3P if you were on a budget build, then get a 4890 in crossfire, I am not trying to say this is a bad build, I am sure you would have gotten a much better build with a LGA 775, could have even gotten a 24"
Anyways, thats a fine build but still i7's are not the way to go when your a budget build.
I just realized, an antec 300 is defiantly not the way to use on an i7 rig
You should have asked us on what to buy before spending the money on an uneven build

I did, the answer were "its good" and ive never heard of going to 775 instead of an i7.

Well, the antec 300 is not really a high end gaming case, its for the budget average mid ranged case. The 300 is not meant to cool a i7 and I highly doubt it would fit a TRUE inside. I made a list of what you could have gotten which would give you twice the performance with an additional 22"

You get 2 VAPORX 4890's in xfire + a q9550 is comparable to the i7.
Also, you could OC the q9550 up to 4Ghz, the only benefits I see in an i7 is a L3 Cache and HT.
I am sure a lot of people would agree with me that an i7 is not meant a for a 1600$ budget.
You could add a TRUE a long too which would easily fit in a HAF 932

I had 1600$ CAD , not USD, INCLUDING OS, Shipping and handling, monitor and 5% taxes !

about the case, well it has a 140mm top fan and a 120mm rear fan , and the cpu cooler will be near those two fans so it should removes heat well.

If it wont suffice, then I will remove the side panel, tada! lots of air.

The 775 was dying so I went with an i7, at least it's 8 threads with humongous power

Plus, I wanted new technology, and i wanted all to be good, not old gear. That's why i got the the i7.

Judging from my sig rig, I don't update that often

I see quite alot of people questioning the way the thread starter has spent thier hard earned money, to be perfectly honest its asolid build and is miles better than my pc, so i take my hat off to you, congrats on being able to save up and buy what you wanted, best of luck with the build when it arrives!

It's not even a dual core, which are 5 years old ! It's Before dual core, Before Athlon 64 !

Kind of old...

Heck, there's some 8GB ddr-2 kit for 50$, and that's DDR2-1066 freakin' mhz.

Mine is 266 mhz.

lol, hey dont knock them amds, i had a dell dimension 3800+ running at 2ghz before this one for a good 3 years heh

I just dont see why some people are dissing your new build, its gonna be i7 which is the thing to have today, and am sure it will do everything you need it to...to be honest it should be solid for good few years yet, just the graphics card might need upgrading cos ive got same one, its okay for what i play nothing too strenuous!

oh, the jump from 2ghz amd to 4ghz intel dc was sooo good to watch lol, you'll prob have heart attack with yours
