Look like a good build to me, but I would personally shell out another ~$150 for an i7 system. It will last you much longer. Also, the 640gb Caviar Blacks are faster than the 750gb version, and I would recommend a Dark Knight instead of the V8, much better bang/buck.

Also, here is a very good TIM, I couldn't find any on newegg.

Yeah , I price matched it with the parts from newegg , and it came out to be 30 bucks more.
I'll try that site though.

i5 is probably gonna be like super expensive , just like i7 is.
If I were to go i7 now it'd be like an extra 300 bucks , not 150.

Not if you get a less expensive motherboard. Even the cheap i7 mobos are still really good. Either way, your setup is awesome. Take my previous post into consideration though, the part about the heatsink and HD.

Maybe later I'll get the better hard drive , and you say the dark knight is better than the v8 ?
I'll get that then since it's cheaper.

I'll also look into i7 , just to see how much it is.
What's the best 1366 motherboard that is affordable.

i7 means I need to get expensive DDR3 RAM too doesn't it ?

OK so you sold off your CPU, RAM and GPU for $500? That's a great start. Selling your ram will be the next step. Try for i7 IMO, can't go wrong.

NCIX occasionally has face-wrecking deals, like 6GB OCZ DDR3-1600, P6T Deluxe V2 and an i7 for $600 CAD once.

I've sold my CPU , GPU , and motherboard for 500.
Someone on here might be selling a q9650 , I might try and get that.
I think i7 is still too expensive unless I can get one of those deals.

Maybe I'll just keep saving up till I can get i7 though , at least it'd be futureproofed.

But that'd mean no PC and just macbook
And my father would kill me.

EDIT - How's this combo ?
http://ncix.com/products/?sku=39455&...Bundle%20Deals

Meh , I don't really trust i7 boards to work reliably yet , I mainly picked this build because of that rock solid motherboard.
A HUGE selling point for me.
Just knowing the Nforce chipset isn't the best makes me want to change my board.
