So here's my options for now.

i7

(this would be hardest for me to get , since I wouldn't be selling my graphics card and I'd have to save up more)
And I'd be using the stock cooler for a bit, which I'm sure sucks.
Comes to $800 CAD

Here's the AMD build

That has a new graphics card and cpu cooler.
Which comes to $967 CAD
This would also take a bit more to save up for.

Then lastly we have the Core 2 Quad build

The most expensive at $980, but has a much needed monitor upgrade.

Igot the same ram as your first option.

it's pretty tall. ALMOST touching with my my heat sink's kaze fan. And it's not top to bottom. it's side by side. By 1 mm.. lol

Your last option.. that 19" monitor.. I don't know man..

What's wrong with it ?
Would I be better off keeping my CRT for now or try getting another free one that works better so I can save up for a real good one ?

BTW , how do you like that P6T SE ?
Any problems ?
Ever had to RMA ?

Oh I didn't noticed that it was a crt. Lol yes get rid of that microwave!

Hm it seems ok so far
Problems? A bit. I don't know now to configure the bios to overclock
I however did SOME and oc'd it to 3.2ghz easily on 20x160 and vcore 1.17 and dram volt @ 1.6, and those other volt I can't rmb (on my phone right now)
I didn't have time to play with it more since I was doing it at 6am and was tired

Rma? No I had all my parts in perfect condition when it arrived

Hmm , "okay" seems iffy for me.
I might stick with the rock solid ud3p.

I think for now I'm just gonna go quad.
I think i7 is a bit too much for how much better you're getting.
I'm sure a quad core will last me a bit anyways.
It'd be nice if I could get a 9650

Enjoy your dead socket with no upgrade path . Also you do realize you have no memory in your q9550 option?

I have 4GB sittin' here.

And I'll probably go i5 when the time comes.
For now I'm not convinced i7 is worth the money, and I also don't trust any of the affordable boards to be any good.
