Win XP and Vista 32bit can only address 3.5gb of ram whereas Win XP 64bit can address 16gb so you are better with XP 64 but if you cant get a hold of 64bit, 32bit will work fine with 4 gb it just wont address it all. As they have said win 7 is good its like Vista but it isnt demanding on resources and runs a lot better.
