Sorry for the horriable organization, just helping out a friend here and im in the middle of exams. He is going to be doing light gaming (so diablo 3 mainly - once it comes out of course) and use it for school work. What do you guys think?

I'm not too sure, but do most antec cases come with fans?

Change the E8400 for a Phenom II X3 720 triple core, or to save even more money, a Phenom II x2 550 Callisto; similar performance for a much lower price.

If you live in Canada, you can do much better for the price; I have a complete rig from NCIX that I just ordered yesterday which I will PM you if you'd like. I have price matches on all the items as well as special bundle deals which have not yet expired IIRC.

A 4870 would be wasted on that resolution. Either get a bigger monitor or save a few bucks and go for a 4850. At that resolution, even a 9800gtx+ would be adequate.

Yes, the Antec 300 comes with a 120mm and a 140mm tri-cool fan.

He can save by getting a lower graphics card now, then upgrading when Diablo III is released (2010-12). If you can find on a 4770 will be fine, or a 4850, 4830, gts 250, 9800 gtx+, 9800gt. And he can get a 450 watt power supply, that'll power the rig fine.

I agree with this guy, get a phenom X3 instead of a core 2, and get an AM3 compatible motherboard, that way he has a nice chance to upgrade later on... LGA775 is dead.

It's a better deal to get a non-oem version of vista. You can't legally install it on a different machine at a later date with the oem version. With the non-oem version it can be transferred to a different machine down the line - and of course upgraded to windows 7 on whichever machine it is installed at a later date.
