Yeah conductive ink is permanent and special pencil is not, Not sure if acetone/alcohol will remove conductive ink so look that up before hozeing your board

Yeah but a Vdroop mod will help your oc and stability and temp a LOT .088 is just unacceptable. That normal droop for the 780i's?

The sanding papers are about 20x15cm in size and the "roughest" is, or was, 220 grit. I am furious.

I was thinking about the Lian-Li V351B cube, but it doesn't have enough space for my stage 2 setup since the PSU is right above the CPU. Of course I could always mod it to fit outside or on top of the case, but then it wouldn't fit into the pace it's supposed to. I was told this "special" conductive ink (the only they had in the store) is removable with rubbing alcohol or the likes.

I still don't know how to do the Vcore one though, as the picture says "to ground". Would anyone care to explain please?

I upped the voltage in the BIOS to 1.40V on my last test run and it idled at 1.36-1.37 according to CPU-Z. I can't remember what the load voltages were, but it's possible that it stayed above 1.3V.

Just to make sure once more: Vdroop mods make the voltages more stable, right?

YES vdroop mods = less / elimination of vdroop which is good

When it says "to ground" its referring to you need to draw a conductive line from a particular spot "a resistor to be specific" and pencil on some conductive material to lower the resistance. Then you check how much resistance you changed by putting a OHMS reader on the ground. Make cents? here a link that might help

Yeah ive been reading pencil back and forth on that particular resistor 3 times " 1 back and 1 forth motion being one count" and vdroop is almost 100% gone

that will help you get to 4ghz if anything else will. I think conductive ink might work too be careful tho m8

So I basically have to draw a line on the PCB of the mainboard to, say, a mounting screw? I guess if I tape up the mobo before, that should be possible. Thanks for clearing it up +rep

I'll be doing some updating next weekend but nothing to your standards

lol. I've had my Q6600 for two years and it's still pretty damn good and it's only dropped by $80 in two years, haha. Thats pretty damn good for processors imo

Yeah the Q6600 is pretty price stable over here too. It was the initial CPU I wanted to get a year ago, but since the Q9550 was almost equal in price, I obviously chose that

I should have invested a bit more and should have gotten the Q9650 though. Just for the .5 more multiplication.

A circular buffer? Would that uneven the base even more? It sure did when I was machining brass in my goldsmithing classes...

Plus as you can see I needed to flatten the surface first, not just make it shiny and smooth.

lol... you'll be just fine, if you were going to invest more it might as well been an i7.
