You do realize that you are getting an ATX motherboard but a microATX case right? Its not going to fit.

Take it from someone who has used both the Black and the Blue versions of the drive and benched them both, there is no practical difference between them. I was even going to swap out my current drives for the the Blacks, but after benching them at the shop I work at I didn't bother.

That makes sense. The only difference is probably the extra cache, which is pretty much no difference. My Blue isn't silent, so I'm guessing the drives are on the performance "setting" from the get go.

Based on what i've seen/read of the AAKS vs the AALS (Also known as Black) is the fact that the AALS (black) has 2 more years of warranty. I am a firm believer that if a HD lasts 3 years, it'll last 5. I do appreciate the input, but I have had my AAKS for over a year and am very happy with them.

The 4850 isn't needed since it won't be used for gaming. The E2180 always would have been more than enough, and it's not worth extra money for faster ram. I game and I still only use 800mhz ram.
She was sitting there when I added the bluray and then when I was trying to save money she was the one that said to drop the bluray off the computer. I doubt it would be worth the trouble of teaching her to rip/edit videos, I'm sure what she plans to do is download them and watch them on her LCD big screen (which is why I like the ATI 4850 cause it has audio with its dvi out). However I do agree if I was doing the build I'd want a bluray, but for $30 difference based on my research the 4670 takes a big performance hit from the 4850. Please feel free to link me to info that proves me wrong and I'll appreciate it.

I agree, it's a nice build. Your female friend will enjoy it. And then you can enjoy each other.

If you don't care for the rebate, you can get the Dark Knight for $37 with free shipping. Expires 7/22
http://www.chiefvalue.com/product-_-...00155789010060

I was also looking for an alternative to that XCLIO psu. Maybe a few bucks more for a PC Power and Cooling 420W unit. http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...tCode=10008589

I think you might be able to find a better motherboard/CPU bundle unless you are already getting a discount off of that.

Well the rebate will cancel out the free shipping, and the case doesn't have a window so once I install it so long as it works i'm sure it'll never be opened.

I have a xclio 500 watt psu in my son's e2180 build and its rock stable, and I prefer to stick with newegg, but thanks for looking.

I don't have a mb/cpu combo so if you can find me one with comparable specs and save me money +reps (its right at $160 for the mb+cpu seperately)

this setup is a little more expensive, but you can go back to the microATX case you originally had. also it is amd and idk if you wanted to stay with intel. this amd cpu is much faster than the intel one u had picked out though.

The 780G mb has onboared HD 3200 so that usually means less OC potential

I prefer intel since they generally perform better.

Does the amd outperform the 2.5 ghz stock, and i've seen 3.5-4 ghz stable on the e5200

http://www.overclock.net/downloads/1...er-v2-0-a.html

The X2 at 3100 mhz (stock) is the equivalent of a C2D at 2325 mhz (the E5200 is 2500 mhz stock)

Also according to cpu speed converter if the E5200 gets a modest OC of 3500 mhz (which if you look up the stable E5xx0 thread you'll see thats a low oc for the chip) you'd have to be able to oc the black edition x2 to 4667mhz

Though the motherboard does offer onboard raid which is a nice feature, I don't think the extra price would be worth it if it'll be a cpu performance loss. Thanks for trying, +rep
