ill try it after work. i was playin wow. got off the game to eat. it restarted itself. come back up to windows. i wasnt real concerned at this point. i noticed it kept restarting. different time intervals between restarts. so i checked everything in the case and the main mobo power plug was halfway in. so i snapped it into place and fired 'er up. came up fine. got back on the game for about and hour and a half then it just cut off and ketp restarting. monitor doesn't have time to come out of power save mode.

If you have another GPU put it in. Make sure the card you have is installed correctly. If you have onboard GPU then use that. I would also check if the power on button is stuck in closed mode. This is what I would check first.
Then do what everybody else has said. You can't do a clean install of Windows when the computer won't post.

To me it sounds like something probably got too hot. I would check with another GPU then if that is not the case reseat the HSF and make sure all connections are snug. A computer usually only does this if the PSU is going bad and or there is too much heat on the CPU. I would start with those 2 first.

everything is plugged in good and snug. i dont get how anything may have gotten hot. the case i am using now has more air flow than my old one. the only thing really dif about my setup is the psu is on the bottom now. could that effect it as far as heat goes?

also theoretically, if its a heat issue then when i get off work today, everything should have cooled down enough to fire up right?

ok im going to walk ya through exactly what happened. about a week ago i bought the cm storm scout case. swapped my components over. computer ran fine no probs. day after i got my case i got my new side panel fans i ordered. installed them and once again comp ran fine. about 4 or 5 days after i have swapped everything and been running fine, i was playin world of warcraft. i did notice that in the top of my screen(in game) there was a small square that seemed to be glitchin. it was about .5 inch x .5 inch. it was like it would get static then go back to normal so i didn't pay any attn to it. i got off the game to eat. soon as i logged off, it restarted. it came back up to windows and after bout 5 mins it restarted again. it continued to do this in about 5 minute intervals. so i pulled the case apart and found that the 24power plug was halfway out so i snapped it in. out case back together and it worked for about an hour and a half. i was playing wow the whole time. then it shut off. it restarted but never brought anything up on screen. the computer kept restarting itself about every 3 seconds til i finally unplugged it.

that is about as detailed as i can get. any more advice now that all details are given?

Default Likely the Mobo

Do a Google search on Gigabyte and restart or reboot and you'll see that this has become a common error for a certain vintage of Gigabyte boards. My EP45-UD3P died the same way.

My suggestion is to RMA the Mobo.

could also be that the power plug to your mobo was arcing and burnt one of the connectors. unplug your 24-pin and make sure none of the connectors inside the plug, and your mobo are black.
