Default Hey folks, would greatly appreciate some help with a budget build ($500).

I'm looking to build a gaming rig for $500.

What can you guys come up with? I've been out of the computing components loop for too long .

Thanks in advance for the help, and I am sorry I didn't really know where the best place was to put this thread.

*Edit* OS, monitor, mouse, and keyboard are not necessary.

Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium OEM 64bit - $100
780G Motherboard & x2 7850 Black Edition - $128
G.Skill DDR2 1066mhz Cas 5 2x2gb - $54
Western Digital 320GB AAKS Hard Drive - $50
NZXT Beta Case - $50
Samsung DVD Burner - $25
Rosewill Green Series 430watt - $50
Asus 9600GSO 512mb 192bit - $50

Hope this helps.

Obviously, you can take out the OS if you don't need it, and the DVD burner as well.

You don't really need one since you can use the stock cooler but a aftermarket one is better.

With a $600 budget (I saw you say you had an additional $100) this would be my recommendation.

The 9600gso in the previous build would have been fine. But with the additional $100 I say you go with something close to what I priced. The 4870 will blow the 9600gso out of the water.

The 4850 even would kill the 9600 if you wanted to save a little more.
