Default Help with new build, idk what i should do next

so here is my problem. i just put my new build together, so now im done and i plug it in turn it on and nothing shows up on my screen, everything turns on, all the fans to. but for some reason nothing will show up on my monitor.

i have it plugged in using the VGA adapter to my HD 4850 but still no video, idk if its the card since the fan turns on and i see two red lights flash once i turn my machine on.

any ideas as to what i should try. or does that mean the GPU is dead.

by the way this is what i have the mobo is the intel dx58so and the GPU is obviously the HD 4850

thanks for the help

1stly i would check all your power conections are pluged in.

Iv done it myself before on my 4870x2 and it lights up red like a xmas tree and dosent display anything untill it has the proper power.

another common one is the cpu power connecter (usualy in the top left of the board)

thanks beasty that was exactly it, i forgot to plug in the cpu power, but now i have this error on the boot screen, does anyone know what i should do?

this is what it says:
PXE-E61: media test failure Check cable
PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel Boot agent.

what cable should i be checking?

or should i be going into the bios to setup boot device and then installing vista since before that it says no boot device found? so i am assuming i have to setup my BIOS?

1st check that your HDD is well connected and seen in bios. if everything is ok then on the bios disable network boot...

PXE is a network booting agent.

hope this helps man.

ok so i ramzhino i did what you suggested and it worked but for some reason i dont think it did, kinda.

i followed what was said to do and everything went good, vista bootsup but for some reason installed pretty fast? but now every time i restart my machine i get the following error:

Adapter 1
Disk Information: No Hard Disks Found.

so is it my hard drive that is not being found or what?

and how would i fix this?
and i do not think it is a bad hard drive since my computer boots up vista right after that error message

Because you are on a 64 bit operating system. Program files houses the 64 bit programs while Program Files (x86) houses 32 bit applications.

That would be because you are running 64 bit windows. Programs that run 64 bit will be installed in the normal program files folder. Others will be installed in the x86

EDIT: Dopamin3 beat me to it.
