There is no point in getting the 1792mb version of teh GTX 275 its another way for you to dump more cash in for little to no performance boost.

I wouldn't bother with the 1792mb version of the GTX 275. When I said the only difference was the 896mb vs. the 1024mb, I oversimplified which was my fault and it shows up on the results of the 1792mb GTX 275. The GTX 275 uses a 448-bit bus with 896mb of GDDR3, which means that it has decent bandwidth. The GTX 285 uses a 512-bit bus with 1024mb of GDDR3. The difference in bus speed gives the GTX 285 advantages at higher resolutions.

Personally, it's not that big of a difference to justify the extra money.

You should be able to reinstall vista with the same key. You may need to call up Microsoft's activation number and explain what you've done and say that you've switched mobo's (because the old one died) but it is the same computer. That is the best way to get through their activation.

If I can't afford a raid setup right now, would one WD Caviar Black increase performance over my current hard drive?

Thanks again!

Don't expect leaps and bounds better, but yes it would be faster.

Alright, thanks again for all the help. I think I'm gonna stick with my current hard drive. I'm actually considering the Windows 7 RC. I'm trying to figure out how to completely wipe my hard drive. I've googled this only to find software you have to buy. Is there any way to go about this without buying something?

Are you wanting to completely wipe it and just install Win7 on it?

If so then when you put in the disc for Win7 and are about to install it just delete the partition/create new partition/install win7 on it.

Hmm how are recertified products on Newegg? There is a recertified EVGA GTX 285 for $274.99.
