I use a mugen 2 on a similar board, fits in both mounting positions and cools like crazy.

Speaking of which, which position should I mount it in? I have both a rear fan and a top mounted psu.

Have it exhaust into the rear case fan. You do NOT want the extra heat going into your power supply.
