I'm pretty sure that model is more expensive just because it's a "modular" PSU. The 550W Corsair is $90 before MIR. The 650W model is $100 -- ten bucks cheaper than the modular 520W.

A lot of your choices are similar to the ones I made a few months ago in building my rig. I also moved up from a P4; trust me when I say that you're absolutely gonna LOVE your new PC.

I just finished building. The only things missing are the psu and the video card. I'm pissed off that I have to wait at least a week before I'll be able to turn it on :|

Okay, I'm gonna take a vote. Who thinks I should use the apevia psu for now? I'm well aware that apevia psu's are horrible and cheaply made, which is why I'm asking.

heathmcabee has it right a 450W corsair will be great for you. My friend has a similar build to what you're gonna have (E6300, 4850, but with a P43 mobo), and he uses the 450W corsair.
Also the E6300 is an amazing cpu at that price. It overclocks very well and it's fairly powerful for the price.
edit:DON'T USE APEVIA

Would it have any problems if the e6300 were overclocked to around 3.5ghz?

I know, that's why I bought it. The ud3r is one of the best, if not THE best, lga775 overclocking boards and I hope to take advantage of that.

Yea you'd be fine at 3.5ghz. Use this PSU wattage calculator from twocable's sig.

From what I remember, it's OK. Not great, but OK.

Since you aren't going to draw much power at all, the Apevia 700w would very easily power your rig.
