Default First rig i've built from scratch!

I'm confident that I have the knowledge and a little bit of experience to do this build and keep modding thereafter. I'll be ordering the parts soon but first i'm wanting to get some insight from the forums about what i'm planing on building. I'm not going for a crazy overclocked watercooled computer capable of taking over a small nation... at least not yet, but one day! once some prices come down... world domination on a budget lol! here's what I've got to start with:

EVGA E760 CLASSIFIED "Overclocker's Pick" 3-Way SLI + PhysX 1366 Intel X58 EATX Intel Motherboard

Intel Core i7 920

(x2) EVGA 896-P3-1257-AR GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 896MB 448-bit GDDR3

CORSAIR DOMINATOR 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3

CORSAIR CMPSU-1000HX 1000W power supply

Western Digital VelociRaptor WD3000HLFS 300GB

COOLER MASTER V8 heatsink (is this thing safe??? lol)

COOLER MASTER HAF 932 case

LG 22X DVD±R DVD Burner

Vista 64-bit w/ win7 upgrade

All this on a budget of 2000$ (I know modest, right?), for my first machine I think there's lots of potential tinkering to have fun with! What do the almighty super-geeks of the internets think of my initial set up??? Keep in mind I plan on expanding this machine a lot - SSD, watercooling, fancy lights and stuff.

a few questions:

Should I get a Cool Master V8 or a Vigor Monsoon III heatsink? or something else?

Whats the best graphics set up? I'd like something SLI but I've been hearing about scaling issues. So what would be the best set up: the two 260's I have listed, a single 275 FTW OC'd, or a single 280/285 (for resale value)???

Is Mushkin RAM as good or better than the Dominator? I've heard good things about both but have no experience with either lol.

anything else I should worry about?

Megahalem or TRUE cooler. Get Dominator ram, SLI isnt really needed unless u wanna play Crysis at 30+FPS constantly with the highest settings an 4xAA-8xAA or Stalker Clear Sky maxed. A single 275 will do and the new nvidia GPUs will be out in a few months, hopefully this year.

If you wanna save ~75$, you dont have to get a 1000 watt PSU, a 750 or 850 will be more than enough and will run SLI or Tri SLI, 1000 watt is kinda UBER Kill but its nice to have.

I'd get a crossfire mobo and two 4890s. I've heard they're the best bang for the buck.

Megahalem, TRUE, Scythe Mugen 2, Xigmatek Dark Knight all good coolers, should perform the same if not better than the CM V8. Nice build

Hmmm, coming from the guy who has two 260 gtx's that's good advice! I think I might buy a single 275. I figure I'll be upgrading to the 300's when they come out so I'm not going to invest too much on the graphics processor right now. Thanks!

Why post the exact same thread twice with slightly different titles?

Got the pieces today, just mounted the mobo and will soon be doing some cable configuring... I might finish this thing tonight. Project "big f@$#ing computer" (a.k.a. BFC) is in the works... but shhhh! don't tell anyone, especially the US Gov't

updates soon
