Default Will it run like a hot knife cutting butter?

Christmas?

nVidia 260/275 GTX vs Ati 4870/4890 Crossfire
Corsair 650W

Oh, and how realistic is 4.0GHz?

GPU and PSU will come when I really dissapoint in my current card.

it will run pretty awesome, 4.0GHz is not very realistic without awesome cooling, and a good stepping. you probably need better memory as well. IMO get a lower model corsair, even the 400w corsair should be very capable of running that 260, and buy better memory/cooling.

No SLI with P5Q-Pro. Wait 2 weeks and go for a new 5800 series ATI card.

I'd try to get some better memory and the video card, while good, won't max out Crysis (if that's your thing)...but otherwise, that's a pretty good selection.

FWIW, I have a 9800GTX+ which is about the same as a 250 GTX and it plays all the games I've played at high to very high graphics settings just fine.

450W is lowest recommendation for 260 and I would not skimp there. Bad recommendation.....

I have to agree with jimibgood. Unless your just an Intel FanBoy then you might want to concider the 955 with ddr31800 ram with the ASUS EVO 785 board and the 5870. That combo will cut through hardened steel.

Memory, I know.

SLI is out of the question, so 4870 in Crossfire should be near the same performance?

I am an Intel fanboy and I'm not giving up on my mobo either.

The HD4870 is roughly equal to the GTX260. I'd say go with a bit lesser PSU, because you seriously don't need that TX750 for a single card setup. A Corsair VX550 would be plenty. That should also leave you some money to get a set of 2x2GB 1066 memory.

Let's guess I'll get an 4870, will the second 4870 still be profitable (performance wise) in 1 year?

Comments about Memory really isn't necessary, I'm changing it in no time.

Good you don't know how small my LCD is ...
