Default The Virginator: My first ever build!

Hey everyone! I'm finally building my first computer! :-)

Don't expect much modding, I might paint my case down the road, we'll see.

This is my build list.

Motherboard: Gigabyte EX58-UD3R (got it!)
CPU: Intel Core i7 (in the mail)
Graphics card: XFX Geforce 9800GT (got it!)
RAM: Corsair Dominator 6GB Kit - 2GBx3 (got it!!)
Case: Cooler Master HAF 922 (in the mail)
PSU: Cooler Master Silent Pro 700 watt Modular PSU (in the mail)
HDD: Western Digital 5400 rpm 250GB drive (had it laying around)
Optical Drive: LITE-ON DVD/CD Writer Black SATA LightScribe Support (in the mail)

I plan on modding a window on the 922 and painting the inside black. Pics soon!

Next post will serve as table of contents.

Good luck on the build. I think that's a pretty crappy card. You should get a better and better drive also.

7200 rpm hdd is a MUST at this point...
The video card is a decent for a budget build... but with an i7 your gonna want nothing less than like a GTX260 216 or better...

You could also get away with a smaller PSU, but no harm in having overhead.

Telling him what to get is pointless if he's already ordered everything (sans the HDD).

Good luck with your first build man, you will feel so much more rewarded knowing you did it yourself!
