New to Overclock.net

trying to get a system for less then $400.
light gaming and mostly vids. not including moniters..

Overkill is better then Underkill. You can spell Laughter without Slaughter. You need more then 30fps.

I would go with AMD mobo asus or gigabyte... You probably could get away with using ddr2 ram... and once the new nvidia GT300 comes out, you can get a good discount on the older GPUs... Video will be more CPU intensive than GPU intensive... So I would shoot for a higher quality CPU rather than higher quality GPU if you have to make a choice. besides, it is much easier to upgrade a GPU later than a CPU if that's something you mind.

oh i also want to be able to use Raid. with 2 hard drives.
i was about to go with the gigabytes but the one i wanted was discontinued...
