Default New toys, i5 750 & Evga P55 FTW
Due to the current combo deals at Fry's I splurged and bought some new parts. I've been wanting something new and this seemed like the perfect opportunity.

I'll be re-using everything except for the mb, cpu, and ram.

New parts list include:

i5 750
Evga P55 FTW
Kingston Hyper X DDR3 2000

The ram wasn't my first choice. I would have really preferred something with a black heatspreader, like some dominators, but I didn't want to spend more money at Fry's. Blue ram will have to do for now. The timings aren't great, but the speed is up there and if anything, I hope that I can tighten the timings at lower speeds.

Well, on to the pics. I'm not a good photographer, even though I have a nice camera. Once I put things together, I'll take more pics.

Congrats on your purchase. I was really excited too when I got my i7. You should be able to push those timings lower pretty easily since memory on this new Intel Architecture doesn't really end up running at its rated speed. I was able to get my dominators as low as 6-6-6-18, which is practically DDR2 timings!

That RAM has some tall heatsinks lol. Black would have been good for them, wouldn't stand out as much, but really if it goes then its algood

The i5/P55 combo was $299 + $15 mir. The ram was $89. Total out the door was $421.

In do time. It's going to replace my sig rig, so there will be water. I just hope that I can get things to work well. The mb has a backplate and I'm afraid that it might interfere with the gtz's back plate.

I have never messed around with DDR3 and never really have been one to tweak the ram. I'll probably end up spending a lot of time on the ram.
