Dude are you even reading my posts!? I mentioned it's $610 at newegg but that's overpriced and you can get it cheaper elsewhere. If you search around you'll find it, just have to keep refreshing certain vendors for stock, like zipzoomfly, costcentral, bottom line telecom... should be able to get it for ~$450.

I'm not sure what you mean by lag while playing... lag/ping is more about internet connection than hard drive... if you're playing a game that is constantly loading textures and stuff then yea it'll perform better.

i dont know if future proof means more watts there trying to make components take less wattage

i have had my sunbeam nue 550 for almost 4 years now and have never ran into power issues throughout the years of upgrading and its the only thing i haven't swapped out lol

Thanks for the heads up, and now I will have to wait until Black-Friday to make my purchase, I think I should put this in my first post. I realized.. I live close to Frys and I can head there..even camp out <with a gun.. I keed I keed> to be the first 100 in the store.

You can get the 750 watt version for $200 but it's ETA is 10/20. Though these are newegg prices which tend to be marked up for brand new awesome products...

You could also save a lot of money by getting a 5850 which has only 10-15% less performance than the 5870.

You also might want to wait for the MSI Big Bang to come out as then we will know whether or not the Lucent Hydra technology is for real. The Hydra tech will supposedly allow you to run multiple GPUs and actually gain close to twice the performance for two, instead of 50% for today's Crossfire/etc. systems.

Please don't take my stupid posts in offense. I just have a tendency to get medicated during the weekends, and forget here and there. It's hard embedding things I really don't know about. I have to really get it down, and understand it to fully comprehend what people are suggesting. This is why I'm so thankful to be a part of this community. People have great experience with products they can recommend for newcommers to do full research on (if they choose to). If I asked a question twice, or didn't respond back. It means I missed the post, or forgot. I want to respond to everybody that took time to help me out. Once again, thanks to all you guys for helping me out. Let's get back to helping me find a gaming paradise

I do want to spend $420 on that SSD, but I might have to be 420d out to pay that much as of now I really love car modifications, and I don't even have a car anymore. So I really don't want to go over my budget of $2,200.

I would get 2 samsung F3 500GB in raid 0 for the OS and 1 WD black 640 for back up. Also those Seasonic X series look very promising.

I'm not 100% it will be D0 actually, but I'm going in the actual store. Won't I be able to pick? I haven't done research on this, I just know what batch to get. Thanks for the warning.

You don't need a 1050w PSU. Nobody needs that kind of power, unless you're running 3 or 4 power-hungry graphic cards which is stupid in itself because there's almost no performance gain. It's a complete waste of money.

Are you planning to CF in the future? If you're only going to use 1 card then you only need about a 550w~650w power supply and it's still PLENTY of power. So many people overestimate power usage. *waves hand* I have a 850w PSU futureproofed for 2 cards, yet my entire system currently outputs 302w. My only regret is that I should have saved $30 or $40 and gotten the 700w version of my PSU. That money could have gone into more important areas like better graphics, or even into my pocket.

I'm not sure about you, but how I spend my money is very important to me. Buying an expensive 850w PSU and highly-priced graphics card is not worth it. You could save a ton of money by going with a 700w PSU and a 5850, perhaps crossfiring down the road if you really need to. If not, well then right now you can easily CF 5770's with a 700w PSU and beat the performance of a 5870. They scale great and even cost less than one 5870.

As for hard drives, I may not be much experienced in them but, once again, I can tell you that $400 on raptors is not worth it. It's old tech that really wasn't a great improvement. If you're looking to spend $$ here for great performance then I'd recommend getting an SSD for your OS and main applications, and any generic drive to store things.
