Default A Build For My Friend

My computer friend directed me towards this site. I want to keep this under $1,000(With the speaker set, keyboard, and mouse included). Make any edits or suggestions you guys think will be good! Thankyou so much for everyone that answers!

ALSO! I don't need an OS put in here, we have one already!

He doesn't want this for a gaming comp. He wants it for school work, storage(500gb is fine), music, frostwire, web surfing, and just everyday stuff. He wants the computer to be extremely good and better than the Dell XPS 420( http://www.dell.com/us/en/gen/deskto...psdt_420&s=gen

You don't have to look at the mouse and keyboard and change them. But Keep the price under $1,000 with them included please!

What is your friend going to user it for?

Gaming?

You might think about scrapping that 9800 if so

He's not a big gamer, and I asked if he was looking to game and he said no, so I gave him something simple, but also something decent if he wants to play some games(COD4, CS: S, WoW, but I doubt he will). He wants it for schoolwork, music, surfing the web, frostwire, etc. Just normal stuff. But he wants it to last him long and be extremely good I'll edit my topic and post what he wants it for.

One thing that can go is the PSU - it's way overkill unless he plans on getting a set of cards in SLI or XFire, and even then it's probably overkill.

Could save some cash and get a 750 or even 650

That processor is a bit pricey, but I haven't read how it stacks up to the AMD quads since I jumped and got the 720 before the i5 was out. And 1k budget is decent, so if it's not an issue or he's dead set on intel I'm sure he won't be disappointed with the i5

850W PSU is OVAKILL DEWD, I'd settle for a 650 and grab him either a GTS 250 or GTX 260 :O Don't be skeezin the GPU

More ram ?

The 9800gt is already $110, why not go for this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814121325 and save yourself $10 and get better performance!

Because that ATI isn't going to compliment his Intel chip any at that price increase :O

It's not a price increase if there is a MIR.

Should I go with a different brand? Or is antec good!?

EVGA gts 250. If you have any better suggestions that are cheaper, but the same or better than this card can you give me a link please!?

Thankyou for the suggestions everyone! How is it looking now? I could go 10-25 dollars higher if I need to get a better brand PSU(I dont know if antec is good)
