Sorry about the image, I'll resize if you guys are hating it too much, I was just too lazy. Haha.

Everything is pretty much self explanatory from the sig info and image. But now I'm just wondering if this is too hot or not. I was hoping the Silver Arrow would perform better than this, maybe I need to try reseating it for the second time?

Thanks!

What is your ambient temp? Just as a point of reference. My 2600K takes 1.440V as well to reach 5GHz with HT On and when I ran Prime95 blend for 2 hours+ my highest temp was 91C with the average being 85C. My ambient was ~26C. I was using a Corsair H50 setup (push/pull with 110CFM CM fans).

If it were me I'd definitely back down seeing as those temps broke 85C. Honestly it's up to you though since the maximum temperature is 98C and the throttle temperature is 92-97C. You'll likely never see those temperatures even in regular use, but you also want to consider the ambient going up which could push the temps higher.

Well, the AC is always blasting here in my house. When you ask for Ambient temps, do you mean the room temp? Haha.

The thermostat in the living room says 72, but the room with the computer is generally warmer since it's upstairs and I have the computer and monitors running, haha. So to be exact, I have no freakin clue, haha.

wow those temps are actually pretty good for air and a 2600k. As lethal said its likely you won't see those temperatures in everday usage. play a cpu intensive game like GTA IV or BFBC2 for a couple hours and if it doesn't go above 75c then yeah why not lol. If it does then back down a little and as other's have said ambient temps are very important. Base your overclock on your normal ambient temp.

You got to 5Ghz on air and didn't hit 90C. That's excellent voltage.

If you were at 83C max on 100% load, I'd say sure, that's fine.

The question is whether 5C matter to you or not.

Just know that you'll only get to 88C very rarely when playing games.

Now if you were folding, I'd say bring it down a bit.

If I were you, I'd try to see how low I could go voltage wise.

This is actually the highest I've gone in voltage, but I've gotten BSOD at every voltage setting below this one. I just increase by .005 every time I BSOD.

I was just playing BFBC2 for about an hour and a half, temps fluctuate from 52c to 60c.

Ah, well, then you did everything perfectly. Very nice job.

I say just enjoy the rig. If you ever feel uncomfortable with temps or want to fold, get a RASA kit

Is there a way to find ambient temp without have a thermometer stuck in my computer? Haha.

Way better than I could hope for with my H60. I hit those temps at 4.8GHz...

Maybe I should buy a small thermometer and stick it in my computer just for funsies, haha.

Theres really nothing wrong with putting a thermometer 6 inches from your intake and reading the temp. That would be your ambient temp. It doesn't have to be high tech or expensive, a standard thermometer is good enough.

However if your case doesn't have adequate exhaust, then heat will build up inside the case and temps will keep rising. Not saying thats the case for you, the temps look fine.

Compare your temps to others at your voltage and speed with HT on in the Sandy Stable thread (edit: ninjad by munaim1 lol). I know for me, I'm doing better than all of the i5-2500ks w/ Hyper 212s (same setup as me that is) and I'm beating half of the Noctua NH-D14s.

Final point to remember is that the thermal sensors in the chips were never designed to report accurate temperatures. That being said, they increase in accuracy the closer they get to the calibration point (also known as Tj Target), so if your monitoring program like RealTemp says "95C" you can be pretty certain that its close to 95C. However if you're reading idle temps... and it says 43C... that could be 33C for all you know.

Yeah, I took a look at that table with all the 5Ghz Stable vcore and stuff. It just sucks that I had to find all the individual screenshots just to see the Temps in it, haha. I wanted to submit mine but the Screenshots I took didn't have my name and settings and all that jazz in it. Maybe I'll do it again some other time when I feel like it, haha.

Well, according to eHume's research and stuff, it seems that you just want tons of intake let the exhaust come out naturally.

My temps were really good with the CM Hyper 212+ as well, which is what I owned before I got the Silver Arrow. That thing is such a beast, way worth the few bucks it costs.

The temps are available in the table lol and if you scroll all the way to the top of the spreadsheet you should see a few different sheets, sorted by overclock, by voltage, by cpu and by cooling.

For sure the fancy stuff makes the sandy club an ELITE club lol when you get some time make sure you come down and post your overclock

Okay, I was totally lookin in a different 5Ghz club thingy then. Cuz I just searched for it and found a different one where you can actually sort the list, haha.

Would 4988.8 qualify? Haha.
