Default Removing stock fan?

Does anyone know how to remove the new Intel stock fans? I have misplaced my Intel installation manual and cannot find anything on Google or Intels site on this. I wish they would revert back to screws as I hate this new system.

My friend told me to push in and turn opposite the arrow but it doesn't seem to work.

Do you mean the fan on the heatsink, or just the fan?

If its the heatsink, you have to get a flat head screw driver and turn the pins whichever way they will go, then pull them up gently I believe.

If it's the fan, I got's no idea other than chopping it off.

Turn it in the direction of the arrows, and pull up.

To put it back in, put it in the opposite direction of the arrow, push down in the holes.

(And its a heatsink, not a fan. )

Woot! Thanks indeed, i had the exact same issue loosing my manual and not finding any info via google or intel lol and was goin mad trying to take the stock core duo heatsink off, and not sure how much pressure i could use etc.

Silly me, i should have come to the best forum in the world first

Just in addition.. you have to literally turn the screw thingies 90 degrees, it doesnt actually need much force at all. You dont need to bend it either.

Cheers again!

(now to fit my ol TBT... :/

ahahaha! Cheers mate, yes..... i took the stock sink off over an hour ago..and im STILL trying to fit this Typhoon :O

Of course i had to go and make it even tricker for myself by loosing the screws, nuts and backplate.
Have to take the whole mobo out :/ (yeah im feelin lazy) put mobo back in, then realised i had to not only put screws in the back while mobo was off, but also actually attach the damn thing! So taking mobo off again now *mumbles*

ps i had used 2 central screws before, now i have to use alernate diagonal holes to fit the mobo.. :/ hoping this will hold it ok.. we will see.
