hey guys so i finally got around to doing this mod to my e4300 to try and see if it would help at all on my system, i allways new this chip had more init atleast jsut for suicide runs if i could get past this biostar fsb wall that it seemed to have
well i did exactly like that picture shows and cleared my cmos and booted back up and its running at 266x9 at 1.31 vcore (stock auto settings) now i am running the havens modded bios 921 and was able to get a true 1:1 ram setting with the 533 divider jsut like as if i had booted with a e6600, ok so now the good part i have now managed to boot into windows and run 1m runs with 420x9, and now even 440x9 which this board couldnt do past 405 (which would usually crash) i guess i get to use the different strap that wasnt being utilized before because of the stock 200 multi REMEMBER THIS IS RISKY TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK [IMG] [/IMG]

Good for you, good job tweaking and not just hitting a wall and getting mad.
__________________I personally try to avoid recommending the 4300 as there are a lot of kinks with its over-all finish and out-of-box over-clocking capability. A lot of people were quick to say 4300> 6300 because of the multiplier, but the Conroe is more stable at hitting 3 GHZ and beyond than the Allendale is. But it's a good thing you went with that FSB setting, I think a 1:1 ratio on a 4300 with 533 ram is a great over-clock, will last a long time, run stable and not depreciate the chip at all. If I got a 4300 I would most likely stick to a 266 1:1 than going for a 333 1:1 just because it seems like not everyone gets the same result when shooting for that goal.

well here it is at 4.0ghz, gonna have to start stability testing now,
Trippinout i would give it a shot and see what it does for you, remember im on a $100 mobo so it isnt the best, its a easy mod really, you should be able to do it painlessly if you decide to [IMG] [/IMG]
