Default E4300 "pin mod" not working for Allendale..

Anyone know if the pin mod for the E4300, works on the AllenDale core? I have tried and no post, no boot.....not sure why tho...just thought maybe the allendales can't open....

399fsb wall hit.... would love to break it...

Make sure you use something with a little more material than a conductive pen, like a defogger kit from an auto parts store.

thats good to hear that....still a litttle more clock left for me perhaps....i finally locked my pcie to 100Mhz...this allows me to run now at 402fsb, but of course my system actually runs a tad slower then 399fsb (most benches a few points lower then usual)

thanks for confirming the allendale as mod-able...

defogger kit? im only guessing this is for the defogger traces on the rear glass?

is there any concern for the exposed side? it doesn't look like it would come into contact with anything, but i thought i would make sure...

thx guys...

the E4300 is the allendale core, its a native 2mb l2 cache instead of running with 2mb disabled

it should work if you did it right but also depending on your mobo, im not sure if the s3 will work on but i think it should

i know the kit as stated above works and the conductive pen will work sometimes but ive also heard of the pen not working for some people so it varies i guess

MuNcHeR23, if you have to ask about the defogger kit, then maybe you should do more research on the pin mod

You guys say to get a rear defogger kit or something. I am friends with a jewelery store owner. Would it be possible for them to use their gem cutting tools to cut a slit where the connection needs to be made and put a scrap piece of silver/ in it? I am thinking of getting the e6400 if I can volt mod it to about 3.5.

well all this mod does is change the strap the mb reads so it will boot up at higher fsb by default and usually allow higher oc due to loser nvstrap, like with e4300 instead of 800 mhz fsb the bsel1 mod makes it 1066 fsb or 266 fsb instead of 200, so not really a volt mod at all, and thats an interesting question don't know if that would hurt the die or not??

i thought maybe he ment vmod it till he hits 3.5Ghz....but im not sure..

i have applied this "defogger repair" to my 4300 and i am now just guessing that my mobo won't pick up the change....i'm sure this is right and the quality of the mod was very good...yet still i can't post..

so i think i will go out and buy a biostar and see if it will work on that....make sure its not me or the cpu thats not right....when i do this (thursday) i will post my results and maybe we can form a small data base of "working" mobos for this mod...
