I'm using an msi p6n 650i sli board (non platinum version) and a core 2 duo e4300.

the settings I used to get it up to 2.5 were:
1100 fsb
533 core clock
9x multiplier
2.2 volt ram
+ .1v cpu
NB 1.45v
SB 1.6v
fsb vit 12%

havnt touched the RAM timings. I'm using this ram btw: http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16820220144

Stock cooling and 600 watt xion psu.

The thing is that my mobo has "holes" in the fsb. The one I know for certain is the hole between 1100 and 1200 fsb. So basically I can't set the fsb to anything between that. So can someone help me out?
is that +.1vcore or +.01vcore?

its so hard to tell what could be holding you up..i need to know your system specs...goto USER CP and add your specs to EDIT SYSTEM...if you read threw the first post and nothing worked then i have a bunch of questions...i haven't delt with that mobo yet, so i am limited as to how i can help...

typical settings are as follows
fsb 333-375
vcore 1.44v
vfsb (stock to +.3v)
RAM multi set to 2.00 not auto
PCIe frequency set to 100Mhz
shut off any "protections" your motherboard bios may have....

Newegg is down right now so i can't see what ram you have...but could you tell me if its DDR2-800 or DDR2-667?

as far as holes or "walls" go, this cpu find them..lol...one thing you may try is this..it has worked for a few others..

fsb 375
multi 8x
vcore stock
vfsb stock
vmch stock
ram 1:1 or 2.00
PCIe 100Mhz

try that and if you don't post then try to raise your vcore slightly and boot..if you do not post or do not boot, then repeat till you do..seems that with the 8x multi your cpu won't need nearly as much vcore...

@MADMAX22 i was going to ask you what mobo you used with the 0711 bios...at least i was close to right with what bios was used..lol..i'll update that..I thought you needed 1.8vcore, that must have been someone else then..i'll update that as well...thanks..

oh and you can change that vcore needed to get to 461x9, i did it with 1.6-1.58 on my phase, as per the link for the validation in my sig, it wasnt totally stable but would run super pi and stuff, i totally recommend if you got a p5b-d with this cpu try out the 0711 bios

hell i may just go get one...i am still thinking i can get more out of this cpu...it hits walls right at 400fsb...runs perfect upto 400fsb, but 401 crashes really fast...seems like if 400 was stable that 401 would be more stable than what it is for me....i know they all are different, but the way this one acts makes me think she has more to offer me...

that was the same problem i had with mine before the bsel mod on my biostar, it would do 400 perfect, 405 would crash if it made it to windows at all, same thing with my p5b-d with the 804 bios, exact same wall, i was pissed,

then i tried the bsel mod on my biostar and bam it worked like a dream, tried the 0711 bios and bam worked the same fired right up to 420fsb+ and kept going, too bad it dont work on the s3 from what ive heard it dont make a difference

ofcourse all these guys are different, i think i may have gotten a little lucky with this cpu i got but still that wall is so weird right at 400

hard to say..i haven't seen that combo before...the P5n is Nv 570 chipset right? so i can't compair it to the P5B...but if you do those two together let us know your results...i would think you should get a decent oc, but its hard to say...

hahah i love it...the idea that i may have even more from this cpu is fun by itself..it will prob. be a couple of weeks before i try a the P5B...my buddy has the ecs e4300 combo and needs a new mobo badly..i can sell him my s3 then get the asus...

this is never ending..lol

the p5n will do at least 450fsb some people have gotten over 500 with em so id say theres no e4300's out there that will not max out before the MB.

anyway mines running at 3.285ghz in my p5n-e

btw what week do you have?
i tried all the bios's and it will not post with anything below 910 (701 and 804 will not boot) it gives invalid cpu error on my p5b-d

edit
im also running 340x9 @ 1.4vcore and my ram at 3:5 (567)
fsb termination 1.4
nb 1.4
vdimm 2.25 (no 2.20 for some reason)
sb auto
mch auto

its odd i cant get it orthos stable any higher, even in 1:1 at 380, or when i drop the multi to 7 (which should eliminate a cpu wall since that would be 2.66ghz on the cpu)
any suggestions there would be appreciated. im going to reseat the cpu tonight with the core2 method suggested and make sure my gemini is seated correctly, my temps are 33/57 which seem high for my cooling and vcore

1con when you tried this older bios, did you post at 266fsb instead of 200? if you still posted at 200 then it did not work, or the bios is wrong....and forgive me for being thick, but what are these numbers 910, 701, 804? edit: ahhh bios versions....0711 did not work on your P5B-d? odd...you sure it flashed correctly?

the multi will not change the cpu wall...at all...this cpu is diff. from all the others when combined with the p965s....when you drop the multi you actually end up raising the fsb...even tho it read the fsb lets say at 400 its really 450...try it...

boot with 9x 300fsb and check your speed with both windows (controlpanel/system) and with sandra...they will show you at correct speeds...then lower just your multi to 8x 300fsb and reboot and check them...Sandra will show a higher FSB, and also will show you are still at 2.7Ghz..even tho your math tells you should be at 2.4Ghz...i am still trying to figure out what this exactly means...

I dont think your temps are out of line either..
