Yes, the letter after the numbering is the stepping, but we usually want the week included

I am really hesitating in participating in this thread. There are some rather ridculous claims regarding to some individual(s) cpus capability. Not that I call anyone a liar, but it would really be helpful if you guys can actually provide a screenshot that can back up your claims.
I have a week 27 B2 stepping and can do 3.5GHz at 1.408V vcore 13hours + orthos stable.

ahhh well, look in my sig the 6400 was 29B, the 4300 40A, the 6600 28A

remember they have the F and G's now also as stated so its not going to be just A and B anymore

sometimes it varies within these steppings also, like my 6600 which was a A stepping and suposedly was suppose to suck but i think it does pretty darn good myself

if you wanna see the stablitiy runs i did with all of these look in the intel cpu stable overclock thread, i have all three of them in there with all setting and such

the 4300 was at 1.58 vcore i think and the 6600 was way up there prob around 1.7 or close to it, these were just quick benching sessions lasting about 10 to 15 minutes max then i toned them back down

the 6600 is stable 24/7 at 3960 with 1.55 to 1.53 vcore
the 4300 was about the same just under 4 ghz with 1.58 or 1.57 something like that

The only way to pick the week, is to go to a retail shop and look at the box, or get lucky and have someone pull it for you. With Newegg and the likes, that would be pretty tough, if not impossible. From what I have learned, Dell/alienware gets the creme of the crop, Large etailers get the best lots from there, frys and such get the leftovers.

This info comes from the guy who heads up AMD cpu sales to Dell/Alienware.
