My processor loads at 70C atm. lol...
39C on idle. (Overclocked to 3.2GHZ) Damn summer... I don't really care though because no program actually gets my processor near that hot, only Small FFT tests.. I hear stock on the QX6700 is 72C on load. So i'm guessing that the Q6600 is capable of those temps too.

Thanks man, remember that speedfan was used to measure them so they are off by ~ 15 °C. I thought about going back in and "adjusting" them but that would be just guessing since I can never get TAT or RMClock to average out a set of constants that are reproducible to the level I would like.

Oh so those are all SpeedFan temps? So add 15c to those temps and that's what you're getting lapped?

So anyone else notice that with the quads small FFTs tests across all four cores is basically 65+C?
The 8k FFT tests really push my processor up into the 67s-69s. Maybe the QX6700 and Q6600 are different.. I've heard forums of people seeing high 70s and low 80s!

O_o; No. AT 3.0ghz my small FFTs (Orthos x 2) are 58c after 11 hours. Taps 59c but never sits there. And that's in the afternoon here in Los Angeles. My room temp is 80f because I hate being cold. LoL

Well, I guess this answers my question about lapping really making a difference worth while.

QX6700 FTL? I hear that the QX6800 requires watercooling.

Alright I'm making an Intel Quad Core OC/Temps/Hardware thread. Cause a lot of people are gonna get them soon and all of us are gonna get slammed with questions for info.

@audi: yeah more or less add 15.... it actually ranges between 13-15. If I could do it over, I would have logged them w/ RClock.
@Murlocke: The hottest core's load temps after the AS5 has curred rarely hit 60 °C in RMClock.

So your lap actually ranges 4 to 5c cooler than my setup? HMMMMMM. That's actually not bad for me then. Neato
