Alright so I have been playing around, and this is what I have come up with so far....
E4300: On the box it states Batch# Q649A203 I have been testing out this MOBO, and from what I gather it doesn't like to O/C on the 9x Multiplier, so all that I have been doing is off of the 8x. The highest O/C I have managed to hit thus far is an FSB of 390x8 = Core Speed of 3120MHz, and a Rated FSB of 1560MHz, not to shabby for an E4300, however I am running into the 2 ever present problems.... Heat and Stability. Whats weird is that both TAT and Everest show the CPU clocks speed @ 3510MHz... Weird huh, check picture, with correct CPU-Z Below ![]() ![]() ![]() Ok, so I have disabled all of the unneeded extras in BIOS, and have locked my PCI-E @ 100MHz, my RAM is currently using stock timings of 5-5-5-18 2T and is @ normal Voltage.... I will over clock this later, here is a shot of the memory ![]() Ok, so now My E4300 is running @ 3120MHz with 1.40v, she is idleing @43, however when I try to use a stress test, it immidiately fails, and using TATs built in stresser (Yes I know it's not the best, but effective) Both cores reach 80c.... I am using an after market Zalman, and A5S..... ![]() I have tried to lower the voltage, however any much lower, and the computer restarts when being stressed. If anyone has any insight let me know please, THX!

Yeah don't stress it anymore... 80 degrees = death.
Reseat that sucker, and made sure you turn off all the extra CPU options, like throttling and what not.

80C WAY TOO HIGH....Careful that cpu will have a short life..
This will explain a little as to why you are seeing a higher fsb than you should...also make sure you update your BIOS for that DS3...They can have a tough time running a 4300..also 8x usually only needs 1.33vcore to run at 400fsb and no Vfsb or vMCH.... http://www.thetechrepository.com/showthread.php?t=30 ALSO: TAT is known to be worthless....USE CORETEMP....and use Orthos to load test...TAT is dangerous to load test with..

Hmm, I guess I will try to reseat, and reapply some AS5, I will try to @BIOS flash it to the F11 BIOS..... Still doesnt make any sence though....

Like I said, I tried to use Orthos, however it fails after 20 seconds or so, and coretemp tends to give the same results at TAT for me however I use them both. I still can't understand why Everest and TAT are showing clock speeds of 3510MHz though...

Everest reads the clock speed as being unmulti adjusted so 390x9=3.5, lots of porgrams wont get that you adjusted teh mutli in your mothorboard.
Yeah have you lapped it yet, that thing is probably concave like a . Another thing have you tried to oc using the 9 multi at all or just went straight for the 8. Its actually usually harder to oc with the 8 since it stresses your motherboard more. Anyways I would try to beef up your cooling and try the 9 multi out for a spin and see what you get.

80C = no go man, keep it below 70C.

Well I could easily run mine like yours @ 2.6, with good temps, but i definately want at least 3, and being an O/Cer, knowing that it can hit 3.2 GHz and not being able to make it stable really ticks me off.

Reseat the heatsink. You can't possibly jump ~40C in heat like that, I mean it's not possible. The old Prescott chip (oc'ed from 3Ghz to 4Ghz) I had only jumps from 50C to 75C.
