Wow, sorry I missed your post... When I had my QuadGT up and running 380FSB was the absolute best I could do, multi drops didn't seem to want to work either. I think the multi drop shouldn't be a big deal with my new board, the very first boot my multi was set to 7x in the bios .

I look forward to seeing whether the FSB wall/limit is a little higher or lower with my new motherboard... I also will be updating this thread and turning it into a chipset vs chipset battle royale! Motherboard aside I will be using the same hardware -> ram, CPU and OS. I'm am somewhat busy ATM so no ETA on when the big update will come, but it's definitely in the works.

Also, if anyone would like to suggest a new or different benchmark to run(while not comparable to my previous e4300/QuadGT results) I'll throw it into the benchmark lineup.

You used a QuadGT correct? I need some voltage/Speed settings Pretty please!

I have had such a hard time trying to get my board to overclock :\

nice work and i cant wait to see how much the x48 helps on those scores. if you want to throw some nvidia chips into the mix im sure i can get mine to run some bench's upto those speeds.

I might be able to help ya out... What are your current settings? What kind of OC are you aiming for? 3.6ghz+ should be easy, so long as you don't have a bum e6600!

I'm looking for anything past 3.5Ghz I'm on uber water cooling so that shouldn't be a problem.

Trying 367*9 (3300) right now, on a 4:5 divider to get my RAM to 458 @ 5-5-5-15 timings.

Vcore: 1.33
vDDR: 2.2
All the other settings haven't been moved from stock (ICH, MCH, ICHIO, etc.).

Ok you shouldn't have to touch ICH or ICHIO... Since you have uber water cooling, I think it easier to achieve your desired OC by overvolting a little (initially anyway).

Set vCORE to 1.45, MCH 1.55, CPU VTT(vFSB) 1.45

That should allow you to run 9x 400FSB easy(also set memory to 1:1 just to limit your variables for now), from there if that works I'd keep MCH and CPU VTT the same and bump FSB in increments of 10-11(up to 450FSB), also bumping vCORE as needed.

-EDIT-

Raised vCORE and Lowered other estimated voltages just a tad :P

-EDIT- #2 I know those voltages seem high, but anything at or beyond 400FSB requires some mad V. Here's a something I dug up over at XS,

Quote:
They run quite well. I am 100% stable all the way up to 508x7 and from 508-512 I can run orthos blend but it craps out after about 3 hours. Over 502 FSB I have to ramp up the voltage from 1.465Vcore to 1.49 to remain stable so I prefer to stay at 500.

My mem voltage is 2.2V and anything over 502 I have to ramp it up to 2.25V. At 508 and up I need 2.3V and Mch of 1.70 so again, I prefer to stay at 500 which seems to be my sweetspot
The QuadGT is every bit as fast as my DFI LT X48-T2R, well for now anyway... I'm going to download MemSet and see just how much tweaking will lower my PI times.

With that High of a O/C you will need to boost the voltage to your FSB/MCH. Try at least +.01v.

If you have had success with 508x7, maybe you should stay in the 8x multi. 450x8. Lower Multi's O/C easier, reduce temps, and require less Vcore to stay stable.

Hmmm... Bump vMCH up to 1.6, if that doesn't bring stability then you probably have a CPU that needs a little more juice to get the party started(try 1.48-1.5vCORE). Also if it's just vCORE you need once you've figured out the right amount you can begin to dial down the other voltages...

If I recall correctly Villainstone, MADMAX22, Pauldovi, Norz and NuclearCrap all had QuadGTs as well... If all else fails you could try PMing one of them.
