You getting enough voltage to your ram modules? (Sorry if you already answered this, I haven't kept up in a while)

Because you're probably still running your ram in linked mode (synch'd mode), when you increase your FSB, your RAM will overclock as well. Increasing the voltage to your critical components decreases the chances of crashing. You'll need to maintain voltages for your CPU, RAM, Northbridge, and possibly Southbridge. Keeping these off of Auto setting, and manually setting them gives you a better idea of how much voltages you need and actually require.

after setting everything manually now I cant get past 1200 fsb with 1.45 vcore how high can I take the vcore? right now core temp says temps are around 43 celsius. what else can I do to get higher? I see people with like 3.0 on this processor and some are at 3.6 I don't want that high, I just want 2.99.

You are hitting a FSB hole, try 1600FSB and 8x multi and it will probably boot.

Do you have the A1 revision of the 680is? If you don't you might want to RMA it and request for a A1. The quads will not overclock well on a AR.

You should be happy with a 1.2GHz overclock. My highest is 3.25Ghz. 3.6 at 1.5v isnt stable and is way to hot for me.
