hey pauldovi.... have you done this yourself before?
I am curious to see if I could do this to a Q6600 and get a higher clock than I will be limited to...

so by being recognized as a 1333 it defaults to a 333FSB right?
now I don't understand how that benefits us since people say to have their Q6600's at 3.1 to 3.2 with 680i's and a 333FSB would equate to a 3.0GHz clock with the 9 multi... so you would still be under the maximum attainable OC does the FSB ceiling shift up together with the stock FSB when doing this mod?

The idea of the mod is that it increases the northbridge straps (walls). It more has to do with the motherboard than anything else.

ok... I see... I am sorry... now I remember the info from your post...
so the MoBo would start off at 1333 which makes it more stable... I see... so because of that added stability we might be able to post at higher FSBs and reach a temperature ceiling instead...

updated
Maybe I should also list the average highest FSB hit per MoBo for the popular boards on the first post... can anyone help me with that info?
