Just going to through this in there but I read a report from a Intel VP saying they have plans for a single chip 8 core by 3quarter 2008. And if it goes as expected by late 2010 we could see 56 core processors. Theat one I would have to see for my self though. I'll try to find the press release that was talking about this. NO can't remeber where I read it.

#4189 Screw it wanted QX6850 but for the price can't beat giving it a try. I can resell it latter I guess.

I don't know about 56 cores thats just way to much and sounds wrong, but intel is working on the Keifer Project for 32 core processors coming 2010!

Per request by USlatin, here's an "update" on the ETA

...there isn't one Obviously, we're going to do everything possible to get these ASAP. Unfortunately, however, we don't know a date until we actually have them shipped to us - so until then, we just don't know.

Once we do know, however, I can *guarantee* you will all know as well. Anyone who has been through a pre-order process knows that you will get updates to your order each and every time there is any new information.

The new CPUs, which can be identified by the CPUID "06FB" (B-3
processors were labeled "06F7")

Model number also changes from SL9UM for the B3 to SLACR for the G0
