Wow...this thread is full of bull****. The e2160's OC like crazy, I've seen a lot of 3.6Ghz oc's on air and a lot of ppl have managed to get them past the 3Ghz mark with the stock Intel coolers. Don't believe me? Got to XPC and search e2160 or e2140. The e2160 is based of the C2D architecture but it has half the cache of the e4300 making the e2160 trail the e4300 by a small margin mostly in games. You won't be able to get the e4300 shortly after the price drop since Intel is discontinuing them and most likely has stopped manufacturing them for a while now. The e2160 is a SUPERB cpu, you can get great oc's given that you have the proper set-up and it's only 80$; I might be mistaken but I believe the e21xx series is going to also have a price drop soon. go for the E2160, it's a hell of a processor for only 80$.

Hey folks, I'm new here but I'll share my results with the E2160.
I never used the stock Intel cooler, I have the TR Ultra120 extreme cooler.
At stock voltage I was able to get 3.0ghz completely stable. Only thing I changed was change the memory multiplier and the FSB.
Then I went up to 3.3ghz but had to up the voltage a bit (a tad bit under 1.4v) and it was prime 95 stable for 5 hours before it froze. I figure a bit more juice and it would of been fine at that speed.
Right now I have it at 3.1ghz@1.38v, 100% stable.

I only put this system together 2 days ago so I haven't done too much overclocking yet,but so far the results are outstanding. On stock voltage, 1200mhz over stock is a very good value. I can push it back up to 3.3ghz with a bit more voltage (it'll still stay cool), that would make for a 1500mhz increase.
Only reason why I'm not pushing 3.3-3.5ghz right now is because I don't want to take up anymore time tweaking&then testing for hours on end for stability. All my time right now is taken up with gaming...I've been deprived for too long.
So far, it runs Supreme Commander (cpu intense) perfectly with 4-5 CPU opponents on large maps.

Hope this helps!
