After a bit of messing around i got a refund on my mobo and ram, you guys have been very helpful in helping me decide which cpu and mobo to get but the question i have now is which ram lol should i get the PC2-8500 1066Mhz ram im not sure how elpida ram is ranked with the big boys as i dont think i can afford something like Gskills, or 800Mhz PC2-6400 OCZ corsair or kingston or if someone knows where i can get 4 x 1gb of decent ram at around £150 (approx i can probly stretch to £200 if i wait a week or 2) that i could use with the p5k mobo and E6850 cpu

Yes i do have my heart set on 4gb simply because of performance boost from 2gb to 4gb as im also debating to use vista 64 as my main OS the bugs are nearly getting ironed out and vista doesnt like 2gb of ram that much especially for gaming.

PS. basically my budget for cpu mobo and ram is approx £400

You really should go read about the core's architecture and you'll realise that any c2d can tear up any old processor coz the entire platform on which a processor is built has been re-made from square zero.
