My settings:
FSB 340
RAM 4-4-4-12 4:5
DDR18 +0.3V
PCI-E: normal
FSB: +0.1v
GMCH:+0.2v
CPU: 1.47v

Your settings look good to me. Since you'd already passed the stress test, so just leave the ram alone for now. Did you OC your GPU? Try to add +0.1v to you PCI-E to see what happen. Don’t do 0.2v.

Great. I didn’t see the black screen after I added +0.1v to PCI-E voltage. Thanks.

rep+ for taking the time to put together such a great review. I know it takes a lot of time but hopefully everyone else appreciates it as much as I do.

Do you ask the 8600 is good card or it is good to upgrade from your 8400 to 8600?

8600 is a good card but if you want to upgrade from 8400 to 8600 now. IMO, I am sure it will improve performance but I would like to wait until year end or when new video cards come out and get the 8800 series card if you don’t have budget problem. Let’s listen what other members say.

Can E2180 OC to 3.4G+? I am thinking to sell my E2160 and buy a new E2180.

most people with them are getting 3.6 to 3.9, just make sure you have good cooling for it as some of them run very hot...

It is a pretty tough question to answer. Yes. E2180 can easily reach 3.4G but like Bear said you do need a good cooler. Not my AC7. On the other hand, you may be stuck at somewhere 3.2G if you aren’t lucky to get one from bad batch. So, what’s wrong with your E2160? I saw 3.0G. That’s almost 70% OC. Not bad at all. E2180 has the same scale as E2160 but with 10 multiplier and M0 stepping. I see where you come from. You may get 3.4G if you use 70% OC rule but no one can guarantee this.

how fast is a 2180 at 3.6-3.7 ghz compared to a 6750 with a nice oc on that as well?

i wish we have a few people with exact same machines with 2180 and 6750 lol
