Its price is right in the budget range with competitive performance especially if you have luck to pick one little monster from some good batches.

I just ordered my E2180. What do you think, I can get stable, with the following:

P35-DS3R
TR Ultra-120 Extreme
Crucial Ballistix
It's really cold in my room.
Case cooling, includes 2 x 140mm intake and exhaust. 1 x 120mm side instake. And a 140mm, on the TR Ultra-120 Extreme.

They looks good to me. With DS3X mobo, don't increase core volatge unless you prove it. Good luck. Would you please to post your batch# if you don't mind.

It says FPO# and is at the right down corner of the label.

this is getting so annoying ^.^

i want ntohing mroe than to build a 2180 machine

i still reallly just cannot decide wich mobo i want though.
i fear Vdroop barely even understand it as ive never had that issue before.

i ve honestly never had good luck with Gigabyte and i wrote them off long ago with a socket a board that claimed the life of my 3200 barton =(

sicne then ive been MSI for my socket a's and my 3700 sandi, love em, and thhe DFI board i have is second to none for an opty 165 =)
obviousely the less cache memory is unimportant for me really, my opty doesnt have whole lot of cache anyway, and i doubt i would notice.

but im sure i would notice a 3.6 ghz OC =)

he only problem faceing me is i need to sell off my Opty , mobo, and memory so i can aford what i want =)

OK thanks. What did you mean by "don't increase core volatge unless you prove it"?

You mean, don't increase the core until it's stable?

Some DS3X mobos are pretty tricky. It will uses the voltage whatever you set. Slow to raise the fsb to see what the max fsb your current voltage can stand.

I received many PM and emails this weekend. Lots members complained (may be not the right word) about that their E2180 rig could not get pass 3.3G. I understand this frustration but if you stop a second and think about the 3.3G. That’s 65% OC with $90chip. To push to above 3.4G with typical air cooling you may not get any significant performance as temperature goes up and loosen your ram. In my point of view, I think 3.3G OR 3.4G is very good for budget build or temporary solution until next upgrade.

I agree I think allot of people don't understand that their is no guarantee when overclocking. Sometimes you get a good chip, a good motherboard, and a good set of RAM and you can overclock to 3.6-3.8GHz. And other times you may get a bad combination and end up not being able to get past 2.8GHz.

If you get to 3.3GHz be happy that you got a Duel Core 3.3GHz chip for $90.
