Here's some reviews I would recommend that are very helpful when deciding whether to go with a E2000 series CPU:

This processor was meant for my file server but I gave it a try in my main rig with great results. Now if I had a better video card....
It seems to like value memory too fyi! UserName. Wall_Socket CPU. E2140 CPU Stepping. 2 Batch #. not sure, its written down somewhere... Cooling. WC (modified Nautilus 500) Chipset. i975x Mobo. ASUS P5W DH Deluxe BIOS. 2206 FSB. 350mhz M. FSB. 375mhz (posted easy, boot XP then restart when it would log on) Multi. 8 CPU clock speed. 2800mhz Ram SPD. 1:1 Ram TM. Memory timing. 5-6-6-18 (T1) DDRV. 1.8v NBV. auto SBV. auto CoreV. 1.28v Idle Temp: 32c/33c Load Temp: 44c/46c Comments: WC cpu, hot NB

I got two rigs going now with 965P-DS3's, E2180's, 2x1gb 80MHz and 8800 GTS 320's.
One gets to 3.1GHz the other to 3.3GHz. the 3.1GHz requires way more voltage but runs cooler, while the 3.3GHz requires less but runs hotter... With the GTS overclocked the 3.3GHz gets 10,550 in 3dmark06 and the 3.1GHz gets about 10,400. I'm pretty impressed. I'll do a full write up later, they are still stress testing. I just thought I would chime in with this.
