Could be limited by PSU. I see you got an 8800 running too. Check the number of amps the 8800 uses. Then consider the amps your CPU is using. You may not have enough to give you CPU the watts it needs. amps x volts = watts.

I would go back to the last stable clock and see how many volts your CPU is acually using during a stress test. It may not even reach 1.55 if your PSU doesn't have it.

Make sure your ram is not linked to your CPU. Might wont to set your ram at looser (higher) timings while you OC your CPU. Then go back and tighten Ram timings later.

Good luck.

edit: The 8800gt needs 22amps. Your PSU has 41amps on 12v lane. That leaves 19amps. At 1.55v x 19amp = 29.45watts. Times two for dual core is 58.9watts. Not enough. The e2180 requires 65watts at stock timings. http://processorfinder.intel.com/det...px?sSpec=SLA8Y

Buy bigger PSU.
I don't understand. I get the stability side, but how can my system run stable with only 500W? Mine only has 34A on 12V I think.

Got a stable 3.1GHz out of my 2180. Not sure I want to push more because my temps are creeping up and in the summer it will be even hotter with the ambient temps in Texas.

E2180 (stepping D, revision M0) and DFI Blood Iron -- 3.0GHz (9 x 333) is the best I can get. Board won't POST with 8x400 but will POST at 10x333 but will bomb during Windows load no matter the Vcore increase (I stopped at 1.55V). Kind of disappointed...was really hoping to hit 3.33GHz but, hey, it's still faster than the AthlonX2 6000+ I upgraded from AND what cheap.

I haven't done a thorough test, but so far the CPU appears to require at least 1.50V to be stable at 3GHz. I'm using a CoolerMaster Hyper6+ with a low RPM (~1500 RPM) Scythe 100mm fan -- full load temp is hitting 65C, idle was around 28C or so.

I'll be putting the E2200 I bought from you on here once I get it Lins. Once I get it all squared away I'll let you know how it worked out. Then I'll have 2 E2XXX cpu's in the list. Woot for me!

I don't think I gave you my info for my E2180 now that I think about it. When I get the E2200 I'll post both setups so you can add them both.
