We have some mixed pictures about the E21x0 OC. Most complaints are that the E21x0 isn’t able to achieve high percentage OC. I think it is pretty sweet to have 50% to 60% OC with a sub $90 chip. OC is a long learning process. Sometime it takes days in order to achieve a good OC. The disappointment is largerly driven by the high expectation. I don’t blame you. This is always true that everyone wants to push higher but the reality is that you need to have some OC knowledge and good/reliable components.
Basic OC knowledge I realized many new members just join ONC and are planning on building or had already built E21x0 rig. How do I know? I only have a 750 private message box but these are 470 messages as of last night. Most of them are asking some very simple questions. I was literally repeating same answers to many similar questions. I won’t mind to do this because the purpose is to help others especially when they need. So, for new members who are planning on building new rig, please read the links below first. Why should you do this? Well,
Good quality and reliable components These are no secret in OC. A balance combination made up by good quality and reliable components is the key to have a successful OC. This is nothing to do with fancy or high-end stuff. All you need to ask is that does each component do its job and is it capable to work with other components? If you don’t know this, then you should do your own homework. You can browse some pages to learn something from members' successful stories, ask a question or draft a list to seek opinions. Here are few bad samples.
As we all know, processor has various OC capabilities from some batches vs. others. That’s why we create a page to collect batch numbers. It is very difficult to identify a processor from bad batch number because a processor failed to reach high fsb can be caused by many reasones such as motherboard, ram or PSU falls short etc. But as an individual with limited resources, you should always try to avoid purchasing processor in problematic batch number list. To all E21x0 owners Your configuration information is very important to others especially new members. Make sure you do 8-10 hours stress test and memory test. I very appreciate if you submit your configuration information to this link. The stable-e21x0-rigs-configuration-thread This is not a contest page as stated. If you don’t feel comfortable to post information directly in this link, you can send it my private message account and I make sure your name won't appear on the list. Other members please feel free to jump in to discuss regarding this topic.

I think it's a great idea. I read up on your previous posts regarding the E2180 as I was contemplating purchasing my own. The first hand accounts were quite valuable when contrasted with the many professional reviews where cost/blowing stuff up is no concern. My order will be shipping some time today, and I'll be sure to post all my results, good and bad. I'm looking forward to seeing what the little guy can do.
