As soon as more people own these chips a compatible motherboards section would be nice.

After few weeks of studying and reviewing, I start to add contents. Please let me know if you find invalid contents so I can correct them. I appreciate your support.
1. Add Penryn spcs 2. Add support chipset. Specs and Price This is the most recent list of Penryn family of processors. The chart looks scrabble a bit. I will streamline it as time permits and update the list as data available. Penryn product line crosses desktop, laptop and Server/workstation. Penryn is the family code name. Inside Penryn family, each type of processors has its own code name. The socket type of desktop is LGA775, server/workstation is LGA771 and mobile is Socket P. ![]() Motherboard and Memory Intel's X48, X38, P35, and G33 chipsets officially support Penryn processors. The new coming P45 and G35 also support Penryn processors. Some vendors are current testing and trying to confirm P965 and P975X chipset to see if they support Penryn processors with updated BIOS. On the other hand, both new nForce 790i and 780i fully support Penryn processrots but 680i and 650i only supports dual core Penryn. We should know more as Jan, 2008 approaches. ![]() Penryn Motherboard list I will make a list when time is permitted
