Just get the HD555's.

Nice job mate! You're pretty close to that 7.xxxs mark, which is unexpected for a P5B Deluxe IMO.
Congratulations on the XIP, if I haven't mentioned it before.

Thank you! 7.XXXs is on the way...

Right, DDR3 might help to improve overall performance.Quote:
Yea; even with a 45mn those boards are still really impressive. Thank you! ![]() Quote:

![]() Basically a 3 stager works this way: Air cools the first stage which cools the second stage; which cools the 3rd. The evaporator of low stage is then used to cool the CPU. My unit is capable of nearly -140C unloaded; and lets says about -125C to -130C with an overclocked CPU. Quote:

... I think sub-8s isn't possible on actual board; BTW I'm using a P5B E+ into my desktop system... so I'm hesitating to try it; but I'll have to do all the Vmods, etc. ![]() hehe ASAP... hope before January

So, I've removed the P5B E+ from my desktop, Vmoded it, and then try to improve what I've done with the Deluxe. BTW, the Vcore is a real problem on P5B E+; it can't handle more than 1.77v actual... while reading 1.87v on CPU-Z  It took me a while to realize CPU-Z or bios monitoring was completely wrong. So I've tuned the potentiometer to 1.87v CPU-Z which is the max possible until security cut-off. Anyway, 1.87v is in fact 'only' 1.77v actual (1.765v loaded)

New Spi runs...
![]() With 13.5 multi and 2:3 divider. The fastest combination so far, but unfortunately, it gives stability issues near 5.3GHz Must try with 2x512MB instead of 4x... dunno if it can help.M/B:ASUS P5B E+ P965C2 rev., Vcore, Vdroop, Vdimm mods CPU:Intel Core Extreme QX9650 L739A643 CPU cooling:3 Stage Cascade "Grosse Bertha" Memory:Wintec PC2-8800 512MBx4 VGA:Jaton 7600GS HDD:Western Digital 80GB Power Supply:Antec TP 550W Vcore: 1.87v(Bios) 1.765V(Actual) Vdimm:2.61V(Actual) FSB Termination Voltage:1.45v NB Voltage:1.68V(Actual) OS:Windows Server 2003 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() More to come...

Is it just me that caught this? CPUZ says 2cores 2 threads... Thought that was a quad chip.

... or 1 core, 1 thread
![]() You can choose the number of cores you want windows to use with numproc command of boot.ini file. In fact, Spi doesn't need the 4 cores to run together at the same time.
