Yesterday I've taken only One screen for nearly a complete afternoon of benching...
![]() The P5B is out of breath, it requires me to stay with only 1 RAM module, 1:1 and 15 multiplier. Most of the time, the system wasn't stable; mutli was often wrong after reboot... Today... Improvement has been done... Best frequency so far to take Spi1M was 5.8GHz @1.82v; but something's going weird above 5.76GHz 1:1... no matter the Vcore. In fact, I've finally bring into light, that Vmch was in trouble and causes the multiplier to randomly change after reboot. Anyway, the P5B requires me to do multiple reboot to save bios parameters and to let 75% of those in auto mode. So, here's the screenshot for the highest benchable frequency I've managed to save. M/B:ASUS P5B-Deluxe 1.03G P965C1 rev., Vcore, Vdroop, Vdimm, Vmch mods CPU:Intel Core Extreme QX9650 L739A643 CPU cooling:3 Stage Cascade "Grosse Bertha" Memory:Wintec PC2-8800 512MBx1 VGA:Jaton 7600GS HDD:Western Digital 80GB Power Supply:Antec TP 550W Vcore:1.824V(Bios) Vdimm:2.52V(Actual) FSB Termination Voltage:Auto NB Voltage:Auto = 1.41V(Actual) OS:Windows Server 2003 ![]() Then; here's the screenshot for the fastest time I've managed to save. Look... miraculously, it started with 2:3 divider... M/B:ASUS P5B-Deluxe 1.03G P965C1 rev., Vcore, Vdroop, Vdimm, Vmch mods CPU:Intel Core Extreme QX9650 L739A643 CPU cooling:3 Stage Cascade "Grosse Bertha" Memory:Wintec PC2-8800 512MBx1 VGA:Jaton 7600GS HDD:Western Digital 80GB Power Supply:Antec TP 550W Vcore:1.832V(Bios) Vdimm:2.61V(Actual) FSB Termination Voltage:Auto NB Voltage:1.55V(Actual) OS:Windows Server 2003 ![]() That's pretty bad in term of performance, but benching in such conditions is unfair... ![]() Next time, I'll bench with a recent motherboard, DDR3 and some powerful graphic cards for 3D actions... and sub-8s of course which gonna be quite easy I guess

What you've achieved with that board..unbelievable
You'll miss it, yes? I'm so happy seeing a 45nm CPU in the P5B ![]() What are you gonna do with it the board?

Yup 3 stage cascade is a super-nice, super-cold phase. Basically, correct me if Im wrong, in a 2 stage cascade, the second stage is used to cool the first stage which is cooling the cpu. I assume 3 stage is basically the same idea.
