Easy thing man! Just give it a few weeks and you'll be seeing lots of benchies around the 'net.

I'm currently running a Q6600. I have a Q9450 on pre-order from Tankguys as well. Granted, the new 45nm quads have a few knocks against them due to the low multipliers but I'll have fun messing with them nonetheless and in the end, personally, that's all that matters to me

Okay, since an ES chip isn't good enough... How about this.

x3550 looks promising...

C1 revision also looks promising.

Just another proof that you didn't read what I wrote before trying to hammer me down. Also, that would be an example of a good chip.

Couple people here aren't getting nearly as good results: http://www.overclock.net/intel-cpus/...45nm-club.html

How about you actually read what I wrote (not just read, but understand) before you keep trying to shoot me down with few good results out of so many? I don't think much people would be convinced to pay almost twice the price if it's not gonna hit at least 3.8GHz continuously. If I was to dish out the extra cash, I'd go for something worthy like the Q9650. But if I only have $380 to spend, I would rather take a Q6700 and donate the rest to charity, at least then the money would be useful.

At this point it's really not Q6600 vs Q9450, with the April price drop in effect, the Q6700 would be the very best buy until the 45nm chips sees a drop.

The Q9450's that I've had experience with all had broken/miscalibrated/stuck DTS's. I'm currently using my OEM chip I received from Tankguys.

I'm trying to get a build completed for my brother and I bought a Q9450 from Microcenter last night. The DTS was stuck on that one so I returned it today and tried yet another Q9450 and guess what? The DTS was slightly more messed up on this chip. I know that the temps read from the DTS aren't supposed to be used other than to throttle the clock on the chip when a dangerous temp is reached but the fact that a feature is not working as intended worries me and I'll end up returning the chip for a full refund now and probably pick up a Q6600 for him instead.

I hope the retail release will be error free.
