From what I've read the Q6600 will be a better overclocker, by FARE.

It's the best processor on the planet right now for performance/oc/price. I and most others won't see that change for a long time.

And yet, the E6850 will do 4ghz with proper cooling. I admit its a bit more expensive than an E8400 but its not a dramatic increase in technology.

The E8500 on the other should be able to do in the 4.5 ghz range stable on air which is more interesting to me. I can already do just shy of 3.9 with a Q6600 GO on air. I will need to see more than 4ghz stable on air to personally make a change.

Ok, hopefully when the Q9xxx become retail the Q6600 will be cheaper.

Great thread Nuclear you are dead on. You can buy a QX6850 on ebay for around $600-$700.00 which is not a bad deal. I was wondering if using a mobo with DDR3 will it help a Q6600 OC better? Intel likes playing MONOPOLY with our money $$$

Default Nehalem....

Like it's been said already, Penryn is just a die shrink where as Nehalem is designed as 45nm from the very beginning. This is the cpu I'm waiting for.
Memory controller integration into the silicon die. Up to eight cores and 16 threads. This will be the" must have" cpu.
