I will compare the temps once I my new ram comes in. This is pissing me off. This is as much time as I am going to put in to this, this weekend. If the ram is the issue, then It should run at 3.6ghz with the ram at 800 without issues, but it doesn't.

OK, but I don't think your RAM is really the issue. Perhaps a timing, or voltage to the RAM, but not the RAM itself. Especially if it's the RAM in your sig???

You could lower your CPU Multiplier and up the FSB to see if it runs stable that way.

Or, just sounds like you should get away from it for an hour or 2, come back and start all over.

Yeah it is the ram in my sig. I thought it would be the ram because a buddy of mine had almost exactly the same issues with that ram on an x38 board. He switched to the G.Skill and all problems were resolved. I would rather have 2x2gb than 4x1gb though. More room for expansion. Plus I heard stability issues can be caused by having all four dimms filled.

There is alot of things about this setup that irk me. The vcore readings, the fact that core temp shows a 10c disparity between cores. The fact that I can't take the ram to 1066 at 2.2v with auto timings or 5-5-5-15 2t. I tried 2.22,2.24,2.26 with no luck.

the 10C difference between cores is common with E8400's. The sensor in the CPU is to blame on that one (ask around)

Have you tried lowering your cpu multi and raising your FSB to get the RAM to 1066 yet? We need to rule that out before getting to your CPU OC, and Don't, raise your RAM voltage above specs, you could fry it and there's no warranty on raised voltages.

Strange, I have yet to see any results for a week 47 batch. I just mine in a couple days ago, but I don't get the rest of my parts until tomorrow. I won't have the stuff to OC is for a little while though. I'm assuming it'll be very similar to 46 and 48s though.

Not necessarily, could be better, could be worse. You should let me know what you get so I can post it here for future reference

Ram at 1000mhz at 2.2v

No luck, didn't make it into Windows.

OK, then that narrows it down to probably either your RAM or your Mobo. If you haven't yet, run your RAM at a 1:1 divider at that FSB, so it is @ 375 Mhz (which is 750DDR). Then run memtest (not in windows, boot it from a CD and run it in DOS)

kaxx: thanks for all your help. I am learning alot about O/Cing through this thread. Things just don't seem as easy as they used to be with my last computer ( Barton 2500+)

I will probably run memtest tomorrow after work as I am done with this for tonight.
