Default E8400 Crapped out! YAY!!!!

Well. This is a sad night.. E8400 is no longer stable @ 4GHz @ no matter what voltage (not passing 1.45V).

What should I do? RMA?

To all you 45NM users, this is proof that your overclocks WILL die at some point. Ive been running at 4GHz @ 1.416V for weeks, and tonight it decides to die out on me. I had to turn it down to 3.4GHz, cuz idk if i should even have it high anymore.

What to do...what to do...??

Hmm, this is bad news. I think I am going to lower my overclock and vcore.

The stepping revision won't have this problem! Just keep it a little low for now and upgrade to the Q9650 (There isn't an X so don't assume it's an Extreme model)

Beyond 1.36v is too much for a 45NM to take IMO, but yet you went ahead and did so. lol

Probly not if it runs at stock they have no reason to replace it.
