This is to redicoulus for words.. What is Asus crap! Even with the whole bios at AUTO, that means the q6600 at 2,4ghz and everything else standard, it keeps restarting.... My RAM is oke, ive checked it. My videocards are good to go, checked it to. So now i stressup my system and mine chipset with the SouthBridge is hot hot and even hotter. This is really not a good board

Someone the same problem, or am i the only one...?

Look it happens. Sometimes the board is not a good one. I have had some issues with ASUS, but for me, once you figure out the quirks, this board proves to be a strong oc'er and a stable system.

You might need to RMA it. I'm sorry its screwing up on you.

For anyone who doesn't kno how to oc their Q6600 + P5N E SLI then go to page 6 and do exactly what he showed you with clear descriptions and pix. I got my thing runs at 3.00GHZ for 2 days long 2 conversions , crysis, gears of war, fifa08, 1 shrink DVD all together and its still fast im happy with it now. SO, gud luck everyone. BTW, change ur BIOS to 0608

with all the stuff you have running in your PC in your rig I am starting to think that maybe you are pulling to much from your PSU possibly

Uuhm first of all: I have a 700watt PSU 100% stable.
Second of all,
1. When i use this settings i can run 20 min stable >>
FSB >> 1333
Mem >> 667
Vcore >> 1.3875
Vmem >> 2.17
VNB >> 1.39
Mem Timings >> 4-4-4-12 2T
This is the stable i can get.. When i change the Vcore of the Nortbridge to >> 1.56 its crashing all the time, when i change any voltages again, nothing will be stable as long as 20minutes.
ps : This is all without a second card in SLI.

2. Now when i turn everything to standard settings in the bios, and i push another card in SLI, and turn the SLI card at the motherboard, everything is fine for 1min playing in games etc, but then it is restarting!!! With everything at standard settings. When i feel the NB and the SB with my hands its very warm/heat! The same happends when i clock the cpu to 3.0ghz , So i think its the chipsets that are to warm in a few minutes.

It is strange that ill get it 20minutes stable with 3.0ghz and not with 2,4ghz and SLI mode... Just a noob motherboard with cooling then

One last question,

Does someone knows an other nice overclock motherboard for the q6600 where i can get 3ghz - 3,6ghz stable?? First choice goes to a SLI motherboard, second choice to an Crossfire motherboard (they are stable as hell i know, but i love SLI atm).

Report.... It will run stable @ 3.00GHZ with PF is not bigger than 3.00GB. If you have PF bigger than 3.0GB (like you run 4-6 extremely large applications) the computer will hang in there like in 1hr or so and you have to restart.

How do you mean excactly?

Ive runned every setup and tryed everything to get the 3.0ghz stable, but its to unstable everytime. Ive tryed the whole weekend and nothing helps.. So i think its the chipsets (NB & SB) who gets to warm and hangs in windows everytime, or reset the pc

Then ive resetted the setup in the bios to 1200FSB and 900RAM. Its stable for days! And its running smooth. Now when i try to go SLI with my 8800gt's the computer will hang and the NB and the SB are extremely HOT! Now ive setted the whole bios to "DEFAULT" and still the computer will hang with SLI mode enabled, and the chipsets stays HOT!

Im very dissapointed in this board and try to save for a EVGA 780i or an XFX 780i motherboard. So ive asked you guys earlier: what is a good option for a good OC motherboard with an Q6600?

I'm sorry to hear of your pains Paulus. It sounds like you may have gotten a duff board so maybe time to think of changing it to maximise your performance.
With regards to the upgrade I'm still with something like the Evga 680i motherboard to cater for your needs as the 780's are mainly only slight upgrades to use Tri-SLi and the expensive DDR3 ram.
